everyone knows their infamous burger, but you should have the blackforest ham and asparagus sandwich – it changed my life. also any cocktail. and the creamery ice-cream. and the ice-cream sundae.

an institution of sorts, craft beer & the best pulled pork sarmies in town (also a contender for the best burger). there’s live music on tuesdays and the courtyard is usually packed on warm (or cold) evenings.

worth the drive for the unbelievable garden alone – but the restaurant, Babel, is a delicious bonus. book a table in advance. there’s also fancy accommodation for out of towners (i have not been lucky enough to stay there myself).
